Do you offer telehealth-only services?

I offer both telehealth and in-person options for therapy sessions. The therapy platform I use for telehealth sessions is confidential and HIPAA compliant (Therapy Notes) and offers a simple client portal access that entails your ability to access therapy sessions, forms and documentation as needed and billing. The therapy platform I use gives you the ability to access your client portal and engage in sessions through your phone, tablet or computer. Due to work schedules and other commitments, participating in therapy through telehealth can offer a wonderful level of convenience and comfort.

For in-person options in the office setting, I am located at 111 E. Washington St., Princeton, KY 42445.

Are your services confidential?

Yes. I am legally obligated to keep all of your information confidential outside of three limitations (see below), which means I will not disclose any information about you to anyone unless you have a release of information signed for that person and for that particular information.

The three limits of confidentiality are 1. If you report imminent risk to yourself or another person (i.e., plans and intent to kill yourself or another person). 2. If you disclose to me that a minor or a vulnerable adult is being abused, I am a mandated reporter and will need to report to Child Protective Services or Adult Protective Services. 3. If I receive a valid subpoena or court order, I would need to respond but contact you.

What is ART therapy?

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is a unique approach to psychotherapy. ART is unique because the ART Therapist guides the client to replace the negative images in the mind that cause the symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress with positive images of the client’s choosing. And this is done quickly, most often within one session! Once the negative images have been replaced by positive ones, the triggers will be gone. Nightmares and repeated intrusive thoughts will stop.

ART is also unique in that it combines the enormous power of eye movements to allow voluntary changes in the client’s mind with well-established therapies like Gestalt, Psychodynamic Therapy and Guided Imagery. Within the ART protocol, the eye movements, along with other ART enhancements, make these therapies work much faster and more effectively.

What does the first session look like?

You will work with the therapist to do what’s called an intake. This usually takes 60-75 minutes for individuals. We will discuss paperwork and your client rights. You will get to ask any questions. During this portion of our time together your therapist will get to know you better. The therapist will collect some information about you to better understand your current situation. The therapist will provide information on how therapy works. You may do an assessment for distressing symptoms, receive a possible diagnosis and start addressing your concerns. When you leave you will be clear on your treatment plan and how we will proceed. Nothing is set inflexibly; we will accommodate you and your needs.

What ages do you work with?

I primarily work with clients ranging from 11-65, however am open to working with clients outside of this age range on a case by case basis. During our free consultation call, I am happy to answer any questions you may have about experience or expertise. This consultation call will allow us to ensure that the services are a good fit for you or your child.

How do I refer someone?

If you have someone, such as a student, you would like to refer for therapy services, you can click the “Request Appointment” button that will take you to an online form to complete with the client or client’s guardian information with their permission and I can reach out to them once the form is submitted to introduce them to my services through our free consultation call.
